According to their regulations the organization carries out
a)Creating of the RA National, world, state and geo-dynamical, horizontal and height geodetic network, updating and development activities.
b)Geodetic and mapping activities connected with demarcation and delimitation of the state boundary of the RA and administrative- territorial units.
c) Creating of the state scale topographical maps and making plans in digital and traditional ways
d) Photo -grammetical works, ortho -photo plans and creation of basic digital maps
e) Development of aerial and satellite imagary materials with the help of photo - grammetry
f) Creation of state cadastral systems
g) Creation of the state GIS system
h) Inventing and registration of the geographical names ,creation and keeping catalogues, publication of official bulletins, dictionaries and lists.
i) Creation and publication of the essential mapping works (including the national atlas of the RA).
j) Expertizing of cartographical-geodetic activities, procession and publication of the standard technical documents and other activities

The organization is equipped with contemporary accurate geodetic tools, satellite survey stations GPS system 500/-15, SR 520-5, GPS SR 299-2, GPS SR-9500-2,GPS SR-9400-6, tachymeters TC2003-3, TCM 1800-1,TCM 1100-1, TC1100-1,TC 305-5,TCR 305-5,TC-800-1, theodilites OT -02M – 2,YBK-1, 2T-3, level H-05-11, digital level NA 3003-2, lazer range-finder Disto-2, electronic distance measurement instrument CT-5-17. During its activity the organization realized the following most important geodetic and topo-geodetic activity,
- Survey-geodetic and set out activities of Yerevan metro- 1981 Set out works of the complex of Sport and concert -1981 Irrigation network of Ararat valley National park of Sevan -1986
- Arpa-Sevan tunnel-1990-1992
In 2003-2004 the organization realized.
- 6207 sq.km 1:17000 scale survey and 10000 sq.km Satellite Imagery Works’ implementation by digital (electronic) methods in the territory of the RA. It’s completed in the republic
- The creation of national geodetic network’s activity with GPS satellite technologies within WGS 84-World geodetic co-ordinate system was completed, in the result of which today we have, 5 points of 0 order network accuracy degree of which is 1,1 cm according IGS reference system, located in the neighbour countries 40 points of the 1-st order network, which accuracy degree is 1,7 cm concerning of 0 order
- 761 points of the 2-nd order network which accuracy degree concerning of 0 and 1st orders is 2.3 cm.
According to the State height network program of the RA from 1560,9 km of the 1-st order levelling has been accomplished 618 km, and from 852,2 km of the 2-nd order has been accomplished 365,0 km.
- 714 pages topographical maps having 1:10000 scale in the territory of the RA have been created with licensed PCL, Geomatica, AutoCad, Coroldraw, Arpac, Geographics, Socket Set Orima, Microstation softwares, which is 52 % of the whole territory of the republic. Besides the peculiarities of the application of 8 and 9 versions of ArcGIS licensed software are being studied. 80 sq km of Yerevan 1 : 2000 scale topographical plans edition and design of 300 pages of “A “ volume and 230 pages “B” volume of the national atlas. Cadastral digital maps’ creation and conduction activities of 929 RA communities has been fulfilled with the help of GIS system, settlements with the scale of 1 : 500, privatised territories 1 : 2000 and administrative territories of communities 1 : 5000 and 1 : 10 000 scales. 15 maps has been published according to the educational programmes for schools in Armenian language, including RA administrative, physical, natural resourses, fauna, flora, climate, population, landscape zones, energetic, agricultural maps, maps of Armenian Highland, Western Asia, Political and Physical map of the world, 18 tourist booklets, maps and calendars as well.
- The concept of RA GIS system was developed by the organization, which was adopted by the resolution N197 of the Government of the Republic of Armenia on 20th January, 2005 and was ratified by the president of the RA on 12th March, 2005 .
The draft project on creating GIS system is carrying out for the governmental organs of the RA. Our employees were studied, promoted their knowledge, their qualification in specialized organization in Germany , Switzerland and in Russia . Due to our organization’s powerful base, the qualified specialised experience and being equipped with all necessary technologies and computers, the organization is able to fulfill any work in the sphere of geodesy and cartography concerning engineering geodetic, topographical and cadastral mapping, thematic cartographical complex activities.
The organization cooperates and exchanges of experiences with Russian, Swiss, Swedish, Belorussian, Ukrainian, Moldavian geodetic and cartographical services and organizations.
